What can you expect?
Look forward to an entertaining evening with exciting rides, delicious food and a cheerful atmosphere. The Folk Festival is the perfect place to switch off from everyday life, meet new people and simply have a good time.

How to get there:
You can easily reach the Bayreuth Volksfestplatz by bike, on foot (e.g. along the Red Main) or by bus. The bus stop “Bayreuth, Volkfestplatz” is only a few minutes away. There are plenty of parking spaces around the square for car drivers.

Savings tip:
If you want to save money at the festival, you can buy Volksfesttaler – the Volksfest’s own currency. For just 90 cents per Taler, buyers can purchase a means of payment that has a value of one euro. This means that you get a 10% discount compared to normal cash. The Taler can be used at all stalls and rides. The Volksfesttaler can be purchased in advance at the Bayreuth Tourist Information Centre or at the Volksfest-Info at the main entrance to the fairground.

The event has a long tradition and is one of the largest folk festivals in Franconia. Numerous showmen travel to Bayreuth every year to be part of the folk festival. In addition to a large selection of rides, children’s rides and amusements, there are also plenty of culinary delicacies.
