Are you new to Bayreuth and want to get to know new people and the region? Then come with us to Franconian Switzerland! Discover and experience the breathtaking landscape of our region and enjoy a wonderful day in Tüchersfeld.
FRANCONIAN SWITZERLAND MUSEUM
We make a Sunday excursion to Franconian Switzerland and visit the Franconian Switzerland Museum in Tüchersfeld. During a guided tour, we learn everything about the geological features of the region and dive into the time of the Jurassic Sea in Franconian Switzerland. We get to know the animals of this sea and their fossils, which have been preserved to this day, and learn how sponge reefs have developed into the famous rocks of Franconian Switzerland.
ASCENT TO THE FLAGSTONE
In order to get a wonderful view over the landscape of the “Franconian”, we climb the “Fahnenstein“, what means “Flagstone”. The climb takes about 15 minutes and is slightly challenging. If you prefer to take a break here, you can always feel free to explore the beautiful town of Tüchersfeld for about three quarters of an hour, or to relax on a tanning bed or a café.
LUNCH IN TÜCHERSFELD
For a cosy finale, we stop for lunch at the Gasthaus zum Fahnenstein. Feel free to get an overview of the extensive menu.
If you don’t have a car – no problem. We offer a free shuttle for 6 people. In case there is more demand, we try to carpool.

Franconian Switzerland Museum: 10:00 a.m.
Lunch: 12:30 p.m. at the Gasthaus zum Fahnenstein
Costs: €3.50 museum. Individual costs in the restaurant.
Number of participants: Event takes place with a minimum of 5 people. 20 people maximum.
